Members of BOWIE KOOKS, the only Official David Bowie Facebook Fan Group (http://smarturl.it/BowieKooksFB - temp link in bio), have expressed a desire to see this feature carry on into December, and so it shall be. Onto today’s #DailyBowieThing for #BowieMagMonday. This is the 14th June 1975 edition of UK magazine, SOUNDS. A relative newcomer to the weekly music paper market (October 1970), SOUNDS was a welcome new arrival, boasting lots of exclusive Bowie covers and features over the years. As you can imagine, seeing this edition on the shelves of W H Smiths back then was a surprise to say the least. This was possibly the very first time Eric Stephen Jacobs' American flag session was published, particularly this handcuff shot. Taken in New York a few months after the LA cover session for Young Americans, these pictures were initially taken to promote the release of Young Americans. In the event, they were used to announce the start of the filming of The Man Who Fell To Earth. The glass of milk shot was used more frequently, but as you can see from our montage, both were used in this edition of SOUNDS. The image reached a wider audience when it was sent out as a poster in the Bowie fan club pack the following year. See you in December for the next #DailyBowieThing. DAILY BOWIE THING – Day 30

“The Stars and Stripes look so special...”

They said it couldn’t be done, but here we are on the 30th of November having launched the ambitious #DailyBowieThing on the official Bowie Facebook and Instagram pages back on the first of the month, with an unblemished record of daily posts.

Members of BOWIE KOOKS, the only Official David Bowie Facebook Fan Group (http://smarturl.it/BowieKooksFB - temp link in bio), have expressed a desire to see this feature carry on into December, and so it shall be.
