The year commenced with the filming of Just A Gigolo in Berlin where it premiered in October. Isolar II – The 1978 World Tour kicked off in San Diego in March and ended up in Tokyo by December, having produced around eighty performances. And after some delay, the live album of that tour, Stage, was finally released in September. Not to mention peripheral projects released in 1978, such as Peter And The Wolf and Iggy Pop’s TV Eye Live. One of the more striking photographs, used for lots of press and advertising at the time, was a still from Just A Gigolo taken by Christian Simonpietri. The image was utilised in the UK for an instore display for Stage, with the poster on the right of our montage being produced for that. The Gigolo image was superimposed over a map of Northern Europe for the poster.
