To heal our environment, we must restore the world's wildernesses and protect its most vulnerable species, like this puma cub from the Southern tip of South America. Due to habitat loss, their numbers — as well as those of native deer, foxes and other creatures — have been declining for decades. Conservationist and former Patagonia CEO Kristine Tompkins (@kristine_tompkins) is working hard to change that. "If there was ever a moment to awaken to the reality that everything is connected to everything else, it's right now — the fate of humanity is tied to the health of the planet," she says. Over the last 27 years, her group has bought 14.7 millions of acres of land and donated it back to the governments of Chile and Argentina to serve as national parks. See more stunning photos and footage of this restoration — and learn Tompkins's vision for "rewilding" the planet — at the link in out bio.
