This week we've stayed in France but fast-forwarded to 1983 for what was a particularly busy year for David Bowie. Les Prédateurs is the French title for The Hunger and here are just 4 of the 8-card French set. You’re no doubt familiar with the film, which was an adaptation of the 1981 novel of the same name by Whitley Strieber. For those not familiar, The Hunger is a very stylish “erotic horror film” directed by Tony Scott, starring David Bowie and Catherine Deneuve (as a vampire couple), alongside Susan Sarandon. The opening scene with Bauhaus performing Bela Lugosi's Dead while Bowie and Deneuve do their thing, was worth the price of admission alone. Dick Smith (make-up artist of The Exorcist fame) was responsible for what were then ground-breaking special effects, which saw Bowie’s character, John Blaylock, age hundreds of years in a matter of days. Even if you have seen it, it’s well worth a fresh viewing. If you haven’t, best get out the garlic and mirrors first. #DailyBowieThing #BowieLesPrédateurs #BowieTheHunger #BowieLobbyCard」11月18日 4時42分 - davidbowie
