Anyway, on to what should have been #BowieMagMonday, but is now #BowieMagEarlyHoursOfTuesdayMorning instead. As you no doubt know, Music Life is a superb long-running Japanese magazine that was first published in 1067, probably. (In fact, 1950). Most fans outside of Japan seem to appreciate the mag, despite not reading a word of the language. Today’s example is possibly the first Japanese magazine to publish a full colour Bowie cover, with this particular issue dated October 1972. Despite Michael Putland’s beautiful photograph crying out for attention, there was actually scant Bowie inside this hefty 230-page mag. That wasn’t unusual for magazines back then to do that. Popswop in the UK often published Bowie covers with no Bowie content inside. Music Life certainly made up for this editorial Bowie absence from this moment on, as they continued to do so, with many articles featuring exclusive pictures and lots more covers to come. The brief mentions inside this issue seem to be a review of Ziggy Stardust with pictures taken by Sukita of David backstage at The Rainbow in August 1972, with new friend, Lou Reed. Due to the hinted at scanner palaver, the two we have used aren't actually in the mag, but two other ones from the same meeting are. We'll post them once we get the things scanned. Fingers crossed, we’ll be back with another #DailyBowieThing later today. #DailyBowieThing #BowieMusicLife #BowieMagazineCover #BowieMagMonday」11月17日 11時08分 - davidbowie

DAILY BOWIE THING – Day 16

“It’s Monday, you slither down the greasy pipe...”

At least it was Monday, till we encountered that slippery pipe! One hard disc crash, a new computer and a stubborn scanner later and we're back in action, thanks to the tech team at DBFBHQ.
