Isn’t it weird how we get so caught up on our appearance? A couple of years ago I would have never posted this photo as I have no makeup on. I was so self conscious about my face that I felt like I wasn’t good enough without it. I always put myself down, saying things like “I’m not naturally pretty like other girls”. I used to literally never leave the house without a little something on my skin. Then a couple of years ago I had a realisation that my face isn’t going to change anytime soon so I might as well get used to it. Disliking it was a waste of my valuable time and energy. I slowly started to embrace it. I know it might sound silly but I challenged myself to go outside, see friends and do activities without makeup on. And now? I haven’t worn makeup once this week. I happily go to the gym, work and meetings without a scrap on my face. Don’t get me wrong, I still love getting glammed up and take great pleasure in the ritual of applying makeup. However, with time and work I’ve come to a place where I actually like my face without it, which is serious progress and something to be celebrated 🥳 Bikini: @staywildswim made from regranted ocean plastic ♻️🌍💙 #selflove #selfconfidence #nomakeup #barefaced #nomakeupselfie #bodyconfidence #staywildswim

Love this 🤸🏼♀️ I barely wear any myself anymore. It was crazy to hear but when I got married and told my make up artist to please make sure the make up is natural enough so my freckles were still visible, she was shocked and said no bride or bridesmaid has ever asked that of her and her experience is that people just want it piled on!! Natural beauty is Definitely a journey for some people and as long as we all keep celebrating it, we will get there ! 💃
Speaking of make up - what do you use ? Always looking for ocean and earth friendly products that hopefully also don’t have palm oil

Yes!!! I use to always wear make up but after having my daughter I wanted her to feel comfortable in her skin so I taught myself to be comfortable in mine. Now I still get done up when it's something extra that day, and I explain to my daughter we can always dress up but should be happy to be comfortable and relaxed.

🙌🏻 Love this! I don’t wear a lot of makeup and it’s nearly always natural looking, but not quite brave enough yet to go makeup free after years of terrible skin. I am going to keep pushing myself to become more comfortable without it though! Thanks for this post x

Shiiiiiiiit... I exactly have the same struggle! I’m always like „I’m not that cute and beautiful girl fitting the standards of beauty society tells us“...🤷♀️🙇♀️😭... I‘m absolutely not over it and honestly doubt I ever will! Such a big thing you made it👏

Gaaaawd that resonates!! I’m not there yet. I know I should be (cos damn it takes sooo much time to keep slapping on the slap) - but I still have some way to go! Thanks for posting and making it a point of discussion! 👍👍🙏🙏

Yessss pretty lady! 🙌 A few years ago I accidentally went to work without makeup, I was sooo self conscious about it. But funny enough, no one even noticed. Now it’s been over two years since I’ve touched the stuff!
