The drift ice that flows along the surface of the Sea of Okhotsk in the Shiretoko National Park area appears to stretch to the horizon, as far as the eye can see. But here and there, small breaks create a path in the water just perfect for adventurous nature enthusiasts to enjoy drift ice kayaking. The open water between the floes can change depending on the strength of the currents and the direction of the wind, which means no two trips are ever quite the same!
