Northern lesser galagos, more commonly known as lesser bush babies, are arboreal and nocturnal primates that occupy savannah woodlands south of the Sahara Desert. Their days are spent sleeping in hollow trees or old birds’ nests, under the cover of dense vegetation. This species primarily travels through its range by leaping and climbing through the trees, but when on the ground, they hop like miniature kangaroos. Because of their small size, large eyes, and general fluffiness, lesser bushbabies are often kept as pets in Africa.
