This cute critter is a two-month-old big eared opossum I photographed @institutovidalivre. Typically, this species will produce two or three litters a year, with an average of six babies. Breeding season for this South American species begins in January and ends in August. After young are born they will stay attached to their mom’s teats for the first six weeks of development. Once they are around the age of our friend here, the babies will detach and only come back to mom for nesting and nursing. #opossum #bigears #cute #baby #PhotoArk #savetogether
