This adorable creature covered in spots may look like a character from a children’s book, but it is actually a three-year old tiger quoll @moonlitsanctuary. When full grown, this species is 50% larger than other quolls, making it the largest carnivorous marsupial in Australia. Before European settlement, there were four species of quoll that could be found across the Australian continent, but their numbers began to decline with the dawn of human development and expansion. Each adult quoll requires a large home range, meaning today there are few areas where this species can exist without encountering humans. Road-related deaths are quite common for this species, as the quoll often scavenges on road kill.
