佐渡裕さんのインスタグラム写真 - (佐渡裕Instagram)「僕が卒業した旧京都市立堀川高校音楽科（現京都市立堀川音楽高校）は左京区の平安神宮の隣、旧京都会館（現ロームシアター京都）の北側にありました。京都芸大と同じ敷地内にあり、元々進駐軍の宿舎だった建物が我々の校舎でした。また明治32年に建った旧武徳殿という日本最古の武道の演武場があって、今は国の重要文化財に指定されているのですが、なんと僕らはここで体育の授業を受けていました。言ってみれば我々の体育館だったのです！同級生が今は京都武道センターとなった学校の跡地の写真を送ってくれました。武徳殿の美しさに改めて目を見張ると同時に、青春時代の宝物のような数々の思い出が胸いっぱいに広がって、とてもとても懐かしくなりました。 The former Kyoto Municipal Horikawa High School Music Department (now Kyoto Municipal Kyoto Horikawa Senior High School of Music), from which I graduated, was located next to Heian Jingu Shrine in Sakyo Ward, north of the former Kyoto Kaikan (now Rohm Theatre Kyoto). It was located on the same site as Kyoto City University of Arts, and our school building was originally a dormitory for the Occupation Army after WW2. There was also the Butokuden, the oldest martial arts demonstration hall in Japan, built in 1897 and now designated a national important cultural property, where we had our PE classes. It was our gymnasium, so to speak! A classmate of mine sent me a photo of the site of the school, which is now the Kyoto Budo Center.
