But while you’re reading... Jazzin’ for Blue Jean is a 21-minute film conceived by Bowie and directed by Julien Temple, created to promote the single Blue Jean in 1984. Depicting the misadventures of the hapless Vic (played by Bowie) as he tries to win the affections of an attractive young lady (The Dream), by claiming to personally know her favourite rock star, Screaming Lord Byron (also played by Bowie). Suspecting the claim bogus, she challenges Vic to introduce her to Mr Screamin’. They make a date to hook up at a Screaming Lord Byron show, where Vic attempts a series of hilarious stunts to win the heart of The Dream.
