The concert is curated by Yaw Agyeman and will commemorate the 155th anniversary of Juneteenth, the oldest national celebration of the ending of slavery in the United States on June 19, 1865. All proceeds will benefit the creation of the Tamir Rice Foundation’s Tamir Rice Afrocentric Cultural Center in Cleveland, Ohio, a safe space for children to learn about their African descent through participation in the visual arts, music, and dance.
