It was from one of five tigers shot by Joe Exotic, a breeder who ran cub petting at Oklahoma’s Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park. After tranquilizing five tigers, Joe “walked up to them with the .410 [shotgun] and put it against their head[s] and pulled the trigger,” said former employee Dylan West. He buried them in the zoo’s trash dump. The victims: Samson and Delilah, Lauren, Trinity, and Cuddles. “We needed cage space…They were dispensable,” employee Erik Cowie said, because they weren’t producing cubs. In April, Joe Exotic was convicted of killing, selling, and illegally transporting tigers across the U.S.—and two counts of murder-for-hire. The animal park is still functioning; the new owner, Jeff Lowe, is still breeding and offering cub petting--and is building a similar facility in Thackerville called the Oklahoma Zoo.
