Did you know that each of the Philippine tarsier’s (Carlito syrichta) gigantic eyes are about the size of its brain? The small primate hunts insects at twilight, and wide eyes are one way to take in as much light as possible. It lives in tropical rainforests, leaping between branches in the tree canopy to get around. On average, the tarsier weighs about 4.3 ounces (122.5 grams) and has a body length of 4.8 inches (122.5 millimeters)—comparable in size to a young human’s hand!
