🏮Despite all our complaints about the insanely humid Japanese summer, it’s worth facing the heat to take part in any local Bon Festival #盆踊り 🍧There is always laughter, street food being hawked, the buzz of cicadas in the trees, and the deep, rhythmic drums hammering away their upbeat sound. Rows of people happily dance circles around a lantern covered platform 👘 You can go full summer festival mode and wear a charming Yukata #ゆかた or get very comfy in a Jinbei #甚平 but many people just wear their normal summertime clothing. I hope you get the chance to visit one of these festivals before the summertime is over! 🏮

itsohsogood I just bought jinbei's for my family, because I live in the Caribbean. And we have bon odoris from the Japanese embassy, but I bought it not knowing it's real name.. I've been buying jinbei's since my son was born 😂 he's 2 years old and it's very comfy and convenient. ❤️
