N.J. senator and 2020 presidential candidate Cory Booker introduced a bill to legalize marijuana nationwide.⁣

The bill would remove cannabis from the federal list of controlled substances, as well as expunge federal marijuana crimes and allow offenders to petition courts for shorter prison sentences.⁣
⁣
It even has backing from some of Booker’s competition in the presidential election, including Sens. Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris and Kirsten Gillibrand.⁣

The bill comes as more states look toward legalization. Recreational marijuana is legal in 10 states and Washington D.C.⁣
⁣
