This is the central portion of Czech printmaker Wenceslaus Hollar’s huge panorama of London. Made in 1647, it’s made up of six prints, altogether measuring over 2 metres across! The view is taken from the tower of what is now Southwark Cathedral, and looks north across the river, taking in Whitehall to the west and beyond the Tower of London to the east.
