Made around 575 BC, this ancient Egyptian signet ring belonged to Sheshonq, a priestly official. His name and title (‘Chief Steward of the Divine Adoratrice’) are inscribed in hieroglyphs. With rings like this, the bezel was pressed into hot wax to seal letters and documents.
