Two anniversaries have passed this week in the Valley: a year since the op and 27 years since I was born. If someone had told me two years ago that I wouldn't be able to climb hard for two years and a large portion of that I wouldn't be able to climb at all I'm not sure I would have been ok about it. I spent the anniversary of the op with bad shoulder pain but my birthday was spent with it feeling strong. Everything is always changing and a lot of what happens is beyond our control. I hope my 27th year brings a healthy body and more climbing. And if for some reason it doesn't I hope I can be OK about it.
