I realised in my early teens that if I wanted to climb the coolest rocks in the world I'd have to learn how to climb cracks. Having grown up with limestone trad I could crimp and place nuts until the cows came home but cams and jams I got good at avoiding. On my fist trip to the valley I got so unbelievably schooled. Something that looks so easy from the ground but then when you get up there you have no experience in climbing the empty space between the rock instead of the rock itself. I really enjoy watching other European climbers go through this process. Some enjoy the ego bashing and thank the cracks for what they can teach, some spit out their dummy and stick to the crimps. It took some time for me and there was definitely some dummy spitting but in the end I say 'thanks!'. What do you say? #liveclimbrepeat
