オペラ初日の前日は、毎年ワークショップと前夜祭を開催。ワークショップは、プロデューサーの小栗さん（小栗旬くんのパパです！）が中心となって、オペラの出演者はお休みの日なのにボランティアで行ってくださいます。抽選で選ばれた500名限定のお客様を招き、演出プランや音楽の内容などを解説し、オペラをご覧いただく前に作品をさらに深読みができる1時間半ほどの時間を、大ホールで過ごしていただきます。今回は演出補佐のマリーナさんや、合唱指揮のシルビアさんも参加してくれて、この舞台をどう作ってきたか、またヴェルディとプッチーニの違いについて熱く語ってくれました。そして僕とピアニストの高橋くんとでボエームのいろんな主題を説明したり、テノールの清原くんの「冷たい手」のアリア独唱があったり、スタッフTシャツや出演者全員のサイン入りポスターなどのプレゼントもありと、盛りだくさん！
最後はお客様も舞台裏にご案内し、また実際の舞台にも上がってもらいました。
さあ、明日はいよいよ本番です！

The day before the first day of the opera, a workshop and eve party are held every year. The workshop is led by producer Mr. Oguri (Shun Oguri's father!) to conduct the workshop with the casts as volunteers even though they are on their day off. Only selected 500 audience were invited to spend an hour and a half in the main hall. The production plan and music were explained to them, and they were able to learn more deeply about the opera before seeing the performance. This time, Marina, the assistant director, and Sylvia, the chorus conductor, joined us and spoke passionately about how they have created this stage and the differences between Verdi and Puccini. Then, the pianist Takahashi-kun and I explained the various themes of La Boheme, tenor singer Kiyohara-kun sang the aria "Cold Hands," and we gave away staff T-shirts and posters signed by all the performers to the audience.
At the end of the event, we took the audience backstage and had them go up on the actual stage again.
Well, tomorrow is the big day!
