This London issue of Time Out magazine was published in March 1976, in the same week that The Man Who Fell To Earth had its UK premiere in the capital. Inside was an interview with the film’s British director, Nicolas Roeg.  The striking cover image was taken on the set in New Mexico during the summer of 1975, by stills photographer David James during a break in filming.  The cover was designed by Carol Jackson and it’s among the very best of the ten Bowie graced for Time Out (more than any other person) and indeed, one of the more memorable covers featuring Bowie of all time. Perhaps that’s why it’s so hard to find these days.  And as great a job as Carol did, her cut out removed Geoff MacCormack (lifelong friend of David’s), as you can see from our alternative shot.
