Each breath hangs on to the stifling silence. 
An intimate haze of rhythmic movement.
My mind bereft of deliberate thinking. 
And readily immersed in steadfast intuition.

A glance below interrupts my reverie.
Faltering thoughts of the pond pervade.
My father’s echoing voice; be brave. 
Seek growth through discomfort and never back away.

Oh, the fun of self-imposed challenges. 
The irony of applause for selfish overcomings.
My love is ever-present in its therapeutic aspects.
The simple pursuit of human movement towards the sky.

This cradle of solace. A “refuge” from reality. 
Many washed hands of its repressed diversity. 
In haste of finding open air and tranquility, 
We say “the mountains are calling” and escape accountability.

These moments of disruption stop us in our tracks.
Inspiration ignited from the assemblage of doers. 
Staying true to one’s values and living out one’s beliefs. 

With appreciation for the good and notion of problems to be solved. 
Making space for imagination in a world of outrage.
There’s hope for progress in this imperfect world.
