A rare event blessed @sharkreefaq in Las Vegas; the birth of several bonnethead sharks! This species is one of the smallest members of the hammerhead genus, with adults averaging only between 30 to 48 inches in length and weighing up to 24 pounds. Found in the Western Atlantic and Eastern Pacific Oceans, bonnethead sharks usually occur in schools of up to 15 individuals, but can be seen in groups consisting of hundreds or thousands of individuals during migration events. #shark #bonnethead #SharkAwarenessDay #PhotoArk #savetogether
