今日の和菓子：夕紅葉

秋は夕暮れ、と清少納言が評したあの時代の秋に思いを馳せる…
長い夜の入り口にあたる夕暮れ時。
色づいた木々に呼応するように西の空が多彩な茜色を見せる。
庭の虫の声を聞き、人は静かに読み書きを嗜んだのだろう…

時は令和。
時代は移ろえど、一千年前と変わらず、
色づいた木々は、見るものの心を魅了する。
そんな京の秋の色をおすそ分け。 『そうだ京都、行こう』
今年の舞台は真如堂。
まさに今が、見頃です。

Today's Wagashi : Autumn Dusk "In autumn, dusk is good. Birds flying in a line against a beautiful sunset is good. Small insects singing in the stillness of twilight is also good.” - The Pillow Book: “Makura no Soshi”
Even 1000 year after the poem, beautiful autumn sceneries still capture our minds. I created the Japanese sweets called “Kohakuto” which mimics the colorful autumn leaves in Kyoto.
