今日の和菓子 : 千代見草
台風の影響で、なかなか仕事場にたどり着けない朝🌬
波乱の幕開けの今日、9月9日は五節句の一つで"菊の節句"とも呼ばれる「重陽の節句」です。邪気を払い長寿を願って、菊の花を飾ったり、菊の花びらを浮かべた酒を酌み交わして祝ったりしていたそう。寿命を千年延ばす草という意味で”千代見草”という別名もある菊。そんな不老不死の花をイメージした外郎の和菓子です。

Today's Wagashi : Chrysanthemum
The ninth day of the ninth month was known as the Choyo Festival or the Chrysanthemum Festival. Chrysanthemums were believed to be auspicious flowers denoting longevity and eternal youth, and they were used as medicinal herbs in China. This confectionary represents the immortal flower to celebrate the Choyo Festival.
