Alexandra Nebel, a former group services assistant at the Museum, shares how #JacksonPollock’s creative process inspires her approach to life, and her response to the common critique, “I can do that.” More debates and fresh perspectives return to the galleries when the #newMoMA reopens this October!

Not a fan of Pollock, and I love art, and as many would try to debate me, for me, he ain't part of the art spectrum, I know everyone has their own method and go through phases but he doesn't sell it for me, Rothko a whole red canvas is able to drag you in and is so soothing and you feel an experience and makes you wonder but Pollock, nada.... #SorryNotSorry

Pollock ran out of steam before he died in that car crash. His work had slumped in sales and other great artists were putting a huge shade over him. Rauchenberg, Johns and younger artists were in vogue ... to conclude, his accident ( like with Basquiat, Haring etc) enabled him to become a myth. Pollocks best work was his early work before the dripping.

Art has become all “hype” ... anything with enough hype can become “great” art should speak, are should say something, art should take skill and creativity, and not just it’s most elementary form.

Everyone's an art critic. 🙄 Pollock was brilliant to introduce action painting & even more brilliant in his precise composition of his paint marks while creating...while he was lit. 😂❤️Pollock

people used the same, “i could do that” critique of the Impressionists, saying Monet’s works looked like a child made them and that he didn’t have any skill😬 #historyrepeats

I enjoy Pollock’s art. I’ve started painting for the first time at nearly 40, and I love trying different things when I do it, but man, it is humbling.
