Each meal, in each city of Iran so far has been a real feast. Not everywhere has been rich with distinct, local dishes (or at least I didn't find them in restaurants/eateries) but Shiraz definitely is not one of those places. So far there have been quite a few dishes which names I knew, and two of those correspond to dishes I know by other names. There's so much to say about the food I have eaten so far in this journey that not even blog posts would suffice. So I leave you with this gorgeous spread of sides/starers at the prettiest old-house-turned-restaurant-hotel. The food tasted like a mom had just made a little family gathering, and I could not give any better compliments.
I am behind at posting stories from Shiraz and around (and there's sooo much to show you), but in the meantime I am leaving you with the ones that I have saved in Highlights.
As this strange year comes to an end, I can't help but feel grateful. How could I not be?
I am taking tonight off to reflect on how this 2018 went and set goals for 2019. That means a notebook and a pen in my hotel room (having skipped dinner too, bc look at this!) But that's a story for another time.
