??‍♀️ Through out my life I’ve been around a lot of successful people. The common thing they’ve said to me is listen to a mentor. I always though it was crazy to listen to someone telling me to tell myself I’m great. How would that help? ??‍♀️ Man, I should have listened years ago.

One of the first people I started to listen to was @etthehiphoppreacher he said some very powerful things I could really relate to. I remember him talking about not letting your past circumstances dictate your future. He said “’I’ve been trying to tell y’all, it’s not your circumstances or situation, that determines if you gonna be successful or not. I’ve been telling you it’s your mindset! It’s the way you see it. It’s the way you think it right!” _
I felt like because of the things I went through the mistakes I made I didn’t “deserve” to be anything. When you go through a lot of sexual/physical abuse as a child and a teen you feel like your life doesn’t matter. I started to blame myself for a lot of the things I went through. A turning point for me was having someone tell me “you do matter” oddly it wasn’t someone I knew it was @etthehiphoppreacher saying it into my headphones. ❤️ I eventually got stronger and mentally started to heal.

Your past doesn’t define you, the things you’ve been through are behind you. Every morning you have an opportunity to stop dragging it around and become great. You just have to choose to believe you are worthy or greatness and it is inside you!

I saw @etthehiphoppreacher live not too long ago and I got to meet him. I didn’t get a chance to tell him how much he has impacted my life but I was grateful to be in the room with him as a new person. I felt like it was full circle I had done a complete turn around in my life from the time I first listened to him to when I met him. I’m proud of myself and I’m grateful for his continued work!
