Photo by @florianschulzvisuals / At this time of the year, around 200 000 members of the Porcupine caribou herd move towards the coastal plain of the Arctic Refuge in northern Alaska. Pregnant cows give birth to some 50 000 calves in the matter of a few days. They depend on the nutrient-rich vegetation that the coastal plain provides. The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge has been protected for 60 years by members of both political parties until oil drilling in the Refuge was slipped into the tax bill and approved under the current administration. We must work to #ProtectTheArctic from devastating oil and gas drilling that will disrupt one of the most pristine and beautiful places left on the planet.
