Photo by @argonautphoto (Aaron Huey). The incredibly intact roof of an Ancestral Puebloan living structure which also contains the remains of a ladder (unnamed canyon, Cedar Mesa, Utah). The exterior wall is now eroded away. Inhabitants would have entered from the roof. Likely built around 800 years ago. Zoom in and check out all the perfectly preserved structural ties they used! From an assignment for the magazine covering the recent National Monument reductions of #BearsEarsNationalMonument, Utah. If you ever find a site like this please #VisitWithRespect! @cedarmesafriends is a great resource for site etiquette. Never enter or lean on any ruins, leave all artifacts no matter how small, and never reveal specific location information! (This ruin was photographed without entry). >>>Follow @argonautphoto today to see his IG story videos of this amazing structure!
