またもや、LEGENDとのかけがえのない時間。ブライアンマックナイト(@ブライアン・マックナイト )と、楽曲制作をご一緒させていただきました。今回はブライアンの家にお邪魔して、グランドピアノで目の前で意見を交わしながら楽曲制作をさせてもらえるという、なんとも贅沢な環境だった。天才という言葉で片付けてはいけないことを痛感させられる。ピアノ、ギター、トランペット…。ブライアンに聞いてみれば、それらの全てが独学らしいが、どれをとっても、そのそれぞれのスペシャリスト達に匹敵してしまうスキルとセンス。誰か偉い人の、スゴい言葉みたいな教えの中で、"人を羨んではいけない" と言っていた覚えがあるけれど、正直どうしても、これを羨まずにはいられない…。でも、モノや見た目でなく、才能を羨むことは、自分が努力するモチベーションになるし、その教えを説いた人には、才能を羨むことに関しては、特例で認めて欲しい。（笑）いつも、僕が羨んでしまうのは、人の才能に触れた時。音楽の中で、自由になれている人を見た時。例えばJAZZなどである一定のコード進行の中で、自由なソロをその場の空気感とアドリブで演奏していたりする人を見ると、なんとも言えない高揚感と、感動、そしてある意味の快感というか、気持ち良さを覚える。話がそれたが、またいつかこのLEGENDと作った素晴らしい楽曲を、皆さんにお届けできる日を、心待ちにしている。ブライアン、本当にかけがえのない時間をありがとう。さぁ、もう一曲、次は…。 余談ですが、キッチンにりゅうじ(@今市隆二)とブライアンファミリーの写真を見つけ、ちょっとほっこりしました（笑）

An irreplaceable time with the LEGEND. I had an opportunity to make a song with Brian McKnight. This time I went to his house and had a songwriting session saying this and that in front of the grand piano. I cannot find the words to describe him, because he’s more than a “GENIUS”. Piano, guitar and a trumpet player… Brain says that he's self taught, but his skills and techniques are like that of a specialist on each instrument. Someone famous said something like "Don't be too envious of other people" but I gotta admit... he's got everything! It motivates me to see somebody gifted like him but when I reach the point that I'm at his level, I would like people to acknowledge it. I’m always jealous when I see a gifted person, making music without any barriers. .
For example, during a simple Jazz chord. When I see a musician playing solo with his feel on the spot, just going with the flow of the atmosphere, it makes me feel really good. A pleasant feeling of excitement... and touched as well. Oh, back to the story… I hope I could share this amazing song I made with the LEGEND to all of you in the near future. .
Brian, thank you so much for this precious time. .
Okay, let’s work on the next song…
BTW, I saw a photo of Ryuji with Brian’s family in his kitchen and it made me feel at ease.
