Hello, history fans! Visiting us for Inauguration Day? We have some tips for your trip. These tips are for Friday, January 20, 2017: • We will open our Constitution Ave. doors at 8:30 a.m. to provide a warm space and restrooms for visitors. Exhibitions will not be accessible until the museum fully opens at 10 a.m. • Our National Mall entrance (Madison Drive) will be closed all day. • There will be no access to the National Mall from the museum. You must use one of the Secret Service access points. • Watch our broadcast of the swearing-in ceremony and the President's speech from our new Innovation Wing. • The Smithsonian metro station is closed all day on January 20. Walking may be the best way for you to get around. Wear comfy shoes! ? • There will significant road closures and disruptions on Inauguration Day.
