Born #OnThisDay in 1927, Patsy Mink was the first woman of color elected to the US House of Representatives and the first Asian American woman to serve in Congress.

She was a key author for #TitleIX, which advanced gender equity within federal funding policies for education. The law was later renamed the Patsy T. Mink Equal Opportunity in Education Act in her honor.

In 2024, she will be honored with her own US quarter as part of the American Women Quarters™️ program, which we have partnered on with @unitedstatesmint. 🪙
