Once a year @cylin buys flat early girls and San Marzano organic tomatoes and makes sauce of them. She doesn't add much to it - just a little bit of evoo, garlic, salt and crushed red peppers, as she uses it as a starting point for different recipes.

I was super happy to trade two jars of this "summer in a jar" for a freshly baked loaf of 50% whole wheat bread.
