A day approach and 6 hours traversing the endless Tronchey ridge before you even get to the base of the wall! Gorgeous views and a lot less people make up for the lack of lifts on this side of the range. With such a long a complicated approach and descent the east face of the Grandes Jorasses felt very committing!
