The brilliantly colored paradise tanager is a medium-sized songbird that makes its home in the western and northern Amazon Basin in South America. Both males and females of this species exhibit the same beautiful coloration, with a blue breast, bright green hood, and red-yellow rump. Although paradise tanager numbers are experiencing declines in the wild this species is still currently listed as one of least concern. Photo taken @zooberlin.
