八つの首が天候を司り、災いを祓う龍。
「災」の炎に八岐大蛇が「息」を吐き、鎮める様子に「息災」の願いが込められています。
天候のそれぞれに恵みがあり豊かな自然や生活が支えられていること、しかし時には厳しく牙を剥くことの両面を八岐大蛇という存在で表現しました。

The dragon with eight heads controls the weather and purges disasters.
The wish for "disaster relief" is expressed in the way the eight-forked serpent exhales its "breath" into the flames of "disaster" to quell it.
The presence of the eight-forked serpent expresses both the blessings of each type of weather that support the abundance of nature and life, and its sometimes harsh fangs.
