This approach allows us to add beautiful shades of colour to our clothing whilst avoiding adding to polluting and damaging synthetic dye processes. We have been testing and trialing plant dyeing recipes, in the knowledge that the dye bath can be safely returned to the soil. The garments pictured here are dyed using madder plant. Madder is a heritage dye plant that has been growing and used for thousands of years. The roots can be harvested, dried and then ground into a powder, which allows dyers to create an amazing array of red hues.
