Today, 20 June, is World Refugee Day.
In the midst of this pandemic, the situation of refugees is getting worse than ever around the world.
According to the UNHCR Global Trends 2021, the latest annual statistical report released from Geneva on 18 June, 2021, in 2020, the number of people forced to flee their homes due to conflict, persecution, violence and human rights violations rose to nearly 82.4 million, despite the new coronavirus pandemic. This is a 4% increase over the statistics as of the end of 2019, which recorded 79.5 million, the largest since the end of World War II.

We should not turn a blind eye.
The world must be more committed than ever to the issue of refugees and human rights, and the public and private sectors must work together to find a drastic solution.
As for myself, I will continue to do my best to be involved too.

今日、6/20は世界難民の日。
このパンデミックの中、世界各地で今まで以上に難民の方々の状況は悪化の一途を辿っている。
2021年6月18日、ジュネーブから発表されたUNHCRの最新の年間統計報告書「グローバル・トレンズ・レポート」によると、2020年、紛争、迫害、暴力、人権侵害などにより故郷を追われた人の数は、新型コロナウイルスのパンデミックにも関わらず、8,240万人近くにまで増加した。戦後最大規模、7,950万人を記録した2019年末時点の統計の4％増となる。

目を背けるべきではない。
今まで以上に世界が難民及び人権問題にコミットし、官民一体となって抜本的解決の道に向かわなければ。。。
自分としてもこれからも全力で関わっていきたい。
