ブルックリン美術館さんのインスタグラム写真 - (ブルックリン美術館Instagram)「In John Edmonds’s large black-and-white photograph, sunlight washes over the artist Ja’Tovia Gary, whose seated pose echoes the carved female figure by a Senufo artist next to her. “Staying true to my own beliefs, I often make pictures in my studio in observation of the passage of time,” says Edmonds. “Intimacy and picture-making as labor and an act of love is a recurring theme throughout much of my practice.” The natural light from the window and the studio backdrop also call attention to the medium of photography itself and the process of picture-making as an important act of agency.
