was born in this small apartment in the South Side of Williamsburg during 2011~2013.

Not long after Japan’s Great Earthquake and Tsunami in March 2011, the news of Sakura trees blossoming in the midst of the debris triggered me to paint. It was the beginning of my healing process as I was also experiencing my personal transition at that time. Over the two years, as I painted these five circles, I became able to face my personal farewells since I was a child.

はブルックリンのこの小さなアパートで生まれました。

震災後、瓦礫の中で咲いた桜の知らせは、個人的な別れとも重なり泣いていたばかりだった私に絵を描かせてくれました。そこから癒しのプロセスが始まり、２年かけてこの５点の円の絵を描くにつれ、自分の子供の頃からの家族の死や別れにも向き合うことができるようになりました。
