Yoshihiro Nishimura’s @ni4yo4 solo exhibition is ongoing at Hidari Zingaro @hidarizingaro until Sunday, December 20.
I’m indebted to Nishimura, who shepherded me into the world of live-action film. He managed the entirety of the filming of my Jellyfish Eyes Part 1 and Part 2 and created the opportunity for me to enter into the live-action industry.
Nishimura continues to prolifically write and direct his B-movies to this day, in addition to assisting Godzilla movies, among others, completely immersed in the world of kaiju and splatter films. This year, however, he seems to have had some extra time on hand due to the pandemic, and apparently has been painting. On Instagram he was loudly wishing to show them in an exhibition, so I suggested that he presents his work at our space.
If you have strong feelings about something you made, whether it’s a film or painting or sculpture, and want it to be seen, then it’s important to present it publicly. Please come see Nishimura’s gushing imagination.

西村喜廣さんの個展を、Hidari Zingaroで12月20日(日)までやっています。

西村さん @ni4yo4 は、僕を実写の映画の世界に誘ってくれた、恩人です。
「めめめのくらげ パート１」とパート2の撮影を全て取り仕切ってくれて、こ実写の世界に入るキッカケを作ってくれました。
西村さん御自身は今も、ご自身原作のB級映画をドンドン作り続けていて、かつ、ゴジラなどもヘルプで入っていて、怪獣系、スプラッタ系の映画の世界の住人ですが、今年はパンデミックで少し暇があって、絵を描いていたようで、インスタグラムで、どこかで個展やりたーいと叫んでいたので、ウチでやってもらう事にしました。
映画に限らず、絵画、立体、何を作ったにしても、想いがあって誰かに見てもらいたいのなら、発表することが大事です。
西村さんの溢れ出るイマジネーションに刮目してください。
