During the Edo Period (1603-1868), the post town of Narai-juku prospered thanks to the constant traffic of travelers and merchants along the Nakasendo.

Built along the Narai River, the post town extends for approximately one kilometer. The old shops and inns here retain vestiges of the Edo Period, and when you walk the road here, you’ll feel as if you’ve slipped back in time.

Enjoy a trip into Japan’s past at Narai-juku.
