After picking up the food and bringing it home, Linda came back to the center as a volunteer, working with her daughter, Christina, and grandchildren until the last car passed through the line, which was after sundown. “I don’t know what we’d do without them there,” Linda says about Bill and Addie Likens, who run the community center and have been providing food for thousands of families each month since March, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. “This community would be hurting.” @FeedingAmerica is the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization with a network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal programs that together provide food to more than 40 million people per year.
