Over the course of her career in public life, Keller joined and campaigned for the Industrial Workers of the World, gave speeches and rode in parades supporting women's voting rights, met with President Calvin Coolidge and other political leaders to advocate for people with disabilities, and helped found the American Civil Liberties Union.
