Here I’ve rustled up a bowl of vegan noodles and stir fry veggies with a kick of chilli, a sprinkle of seeds and splash of dark soy sauce - 7mins to create this bowl full of goodness. I know it can be tempting to have a few drinks on a sunny day and I’m certainly a sucker for spirits and wine; but I find if I’ve had alcohol then my body craves junk food which in turn makes me feel rubbish. One little taste is enough for me, as fortunately I’ve lead a clean and healthy lifestyle for so long that just a few bites of naughty food and I’ve had more than my fair share and don’t want anymore. Now a bag of crisps makes me feel so bloated, a few squares of dark chocolate are super rich and that’s where I stop rather than eating a whole bar, and literally anything greasy leaves me feeling unsettled. It’s ok as a treat, but I couldn’t have it more than once a week because the cravings that I feel for junk food when I drink alcohol soon become cravings for real healthy home cooked food and fresh water to detox. The purer your body is, the easier it becomes to stay on track; it’s not about undertaking fad diets and living in denial over the foods you enjoy, but instead making conscious healthy swaps and changes on a daily basis which add up to a lifestyle transformation in time.
