Taking a deep breath and staring at the nearby galaxy Messier 33, which contains a star-forming region where about 200 hot, young, massive stars reside.
The cool dust and warmer gas appear as the purple wispy structures in an optical image from the Hubble Space Telescope. Giant voids in between are filled with hot, X-ray-emitting gas, shown in blue with data from @nasachandraxray (operated for @NASA by the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory).
