Shepard—a college student in Laramie, Wyoming—was targeted for being gay, robbed and killed in 1998. This childhood Superman cape is one of the objects his parents donated to our @amhistorymuseum. These ordinary objects reflect the different facets of his everyday life, as well as the outpouring of grief and outrage that followed his death.
